If you want to be comfortable by the time you get to retirement, odds are you will need to invest in stocks on your own. So my advice is to not be ultra conservative. Also, investing in stocks early can yield dividend payments for the long-term. Remember, long-term is the strategy. If you are not comfortable with investing on your own, consider a portfolio manager to handle your investments.
